Childhood days, life’s full of fun,
兒時的時侯，生活總是充滿樂趣
Hopscotch, rounders when school is done
下課的時間，一起來跳房子、打棒球
Whitsun treats in countryside fair,
鄉間的遊樂場，聖靈降臨
Raptap ginger for those who dare.
迷漫的薑香味，敢吃的就來
All the seasons have their fling.
為了歡樂，我們有很多理由
Happy memories.
美好的回憶
Off to work with schooldays gone
下班、下學的時間
But we lighten our load with a merry song.
我們唱起快樂的歌，減輕我們的負擔
On bike rides after work we’d say
下班後騎著單車回家的路上，我們說
Let’s go down to St. Mary’s Bay.
讓我們到海邊走一走吧！
Winter was the time for dancing gay.
冬天是歡樂跳舞的季節
Happy memories.
美好的回憶
Marriage next, but no honeymoon.
結婚之後，沒有蜜月旅行
War was declared and they needed the groom.
因為戰爭開打，他們需要新郎
Some sad days when leave was over,
離開之後的日子，悲傷才開始
Flags unfurled, the War is over,
當戰爭結束時，國旗飄揚著~
Now we’ll live our lives in clover.
現在我們終於可以過著優渥的生活
Happy memories.

At last, a home , the children fill it,
最後，我們有了一個充滿孩子愛的家
No time to dance, can’t spare a moment.
擠不出一點時間來跳舞
Rugby shirts stand stiff in mud,
橄欖球的球衣因為沾滿了泥而僵硬
Hanging over the sink, I sweated blood.
它們佔據了水槽，我辛苦的揮汗洗滌
Now the boys have fled the nest.
現在小男孩們，已經離家
Happy memories
美好的回憶呀~
Old age at last, time to retire,
終於年紀到了退休的時侯
Pull the armchair nearer the fire.
將搖椅擺在靠近爐火的地方
Quiet contentment, music slower.
當播放著輕音樂時，我們容易感到知足
Gardening done, we need a shower.
結束園藝工作時，我們需要沖澡
Autumn of age and autumn of season
入暮之秋，也正是我們的年紀.

這首詩是在我服務的養老院中，其中一個老人，在我工作的最後一天，
送給我的禮物。描寫的是她的一生。
